The Pan African Medical is an online, open access biomedical journal focusing on all aspects of medicine and public health relevant to Africa. We accept for consideration articles from all over the world. The PAMJ was founded in 2008 by Dr Raoul KAMADJEU and Dr Landry TSAGUE to expand the submission options of African researchers in English and French, the two most widely spoken official languages on the continent.
The PAMJ is the Publisher of the Pan African Medical, the PAMJ - Clinical Medicine and the PAMJ - One Health. Our other services include PAMJ Conference Proceedings, the PAMJ Conference Management System.. The complete list of services provided by the PAMJ is available on the PAMJ Services portal.
We strongly believe that research done in Africa should preferably and preferentially be published in African journals. African journals should therefore thrive for the highest standards to attract publications of African researchers. The increasingly voracious and sometimes predatory behavior of established publishers risk forever jeopardizing the emergence of an African scientific industry and should be resisted.
According to Google Schoolar Metrics, The PAMJ is one of the top biomedical scientific publications in Africa. The PAMJ receives closed to 3000 submissions a year, publishes no less than 800 and claims a readership of more than 25,000 a month. We boast one of the the most advanced, custom designed scientific publishing infrastructure in Africa. The PAMJ Manuscript Management Platform (The PAMJ Workflow) handles the entire manuscript workflow, from submission, to publication and post publication. The PAMJ employs 15 permanent staff in two countries (Kenya and Cameroon) and 6 contractors located in Europe and India.
Through the PAMJ University, a capacity building initiative led by the PAMJ in collaboration with African institutions, we have built scientific writing capacities of more than 150 young African researchers and provided small grants for selected African research academic projects led by young African scholar.
