Abstract
Les auteurs rapportent un cas d’hydrops fetalis diagnostiqué et pris en charge aux Cliniques Universitaires de Lubumbashi en République Démocratique du Congo. L’échographie réalisée avait diagnostiqué une mort fœtale in utero avec anasarque foeto-placentaire et le bilan étiologique réalisé avait révélé la toxoplasmose maternelle. Ce cas clinique rappelle l’impact de la morbi-mortalité fœtale de la toxoplasmose pendant la grossesse et plaide pour l’intégration de son dépistage systématique chez les femmes enceintes congolaises.
English abstract
We here report a case of hydrops fetalis diagnosed and treated at the University Clinics of Lubumbashi in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Fetal death in utero with feto-placental anasarca was diagnosed via ultrasound and etiologic evaluation showed maternal toxoplasmosis. This clinical case highlights the impact of fetal morbi-mortality due to toxoplasmosis during pregnancy and calls for the implementation of a systematic screening among Congolese pregnant women.
